Keeping your lash extensions brushed and cleaned are the key to keeping them looking beautiful and healthy

Picture this - your lash extensions are perfect. You got the look you wanted, they're dark, they're the perfect length and they really make your eyes pop. And then you go home, you shower, and you look like you have spider legs hanging over your eyes! You try to pick at them and get them looking beautiful again, but you pull some off (and it hurts!) and then you try to push them back into place but they're all clumped together now and it looks nothing like how you wanted. Worse, now that the lashes are stuck together you have little clumps of stuff stuck between them and they're all dirty and nasty. Now everyone knows you as 'Spider Eyes' and you just want to get rid of your lash extensions completely and forget the full experience.

You don't want that to be you - but how do you avoid it happening! It seems inevitable that after you shower that they'll never look right again. Don't worry, it's 1000% possible to get your lashes back to looking perfectly on point, squeaky clean, and like they were just applied perfectly again. All you have to do is follow these simple steps a couple of times a week to keep your lash extensions how you want them. However, if you wear makeup daily, you may need to clean your lashes every day instead.

So how do I clean my lash extensions?

Simple! All you need is a cleanser, a brush, a spoolie, and a lint-free towel or paper towel. You can do this in the shower, or just at a sink. Whatever is most convenient for you. We like the shower so you can just rinse while you wash, but some people prefer to rinse over the sink. All you need to do is apply, brush, rinse, and style - it's that quick and simple! But we're also going to break it down for you into 6 quick and simple steps. Ready? Let's get those lashes back to how you want them to look.

Materials for cleaning your lashes include a cleansing brush, spoolie, cleanser, and cloth

Materials Needed:

You can pick up everything you need for a month in one convenient kit here!

Step 1: Dispensing

Dispense a pump of your illumino foaming cleanser. You may put it directly on the brush, into the cap of the cleanser, your own chosen (clean!) receptacle, or even the back of your hand.

Step 2: Applying

Apply the cleanser onto your eyelid and use the cleansing brush to gently massage it into the lash line. You can use gentle swirling motions, or back and forth sweeping gestures. Whatever is most comfortable for you while making sure that your bristles are getting into the base of the lashes. We recommend keeping the brush pressed against your skin as you swipe back and forth, as it's more comfortable instead of lifting up and placing it back down each time. Test it in the shower and find out what's best for you!

Note: If your cleanser's bubbles go away, that means that it's working! However, you might want to do it a second time so the bubbles stay and you know that your lashes are really clean.

Step 3: Wetting (optional!)

If you decide that you would rather clean your lashes over the sink, after you apply the cleanser to your eyelid, then you can rinse the brush off of the cleanser and get it nice and wet for the next step!

Step 4: Rinsing

If you're in the shower, all you need to do is have the water wash the cleanser off your eyes and you're done! If you're over a sink, use the water on the brush to clean off the remaining cleanser.

Rinse the cleanser off of your eyelid by wetting the brush or just do it in the shower

Step 5: Drying

Gently pat your lashes dry by using a lint-free towel or paper towel. Be gentle! Do not rub, tug, or pull at your lash extensions.

Step 6: Styling

After your lash extensions are dry (don't do when wet!) you can now style your lashes and make them look perfect again. Use your spoolie to brush them out, separating the individual lashes, and also lift them up to the curl that you want. Start at the base of the lash extension and brush up the length to the tip. You can even use two spoolies together by sandwiching your lashes in between and twirl them together for easy and effortless lift.

Use a spoolie or two to fluff and shape your lash extensions

And that's it! You're done! Your lashes are now clean, beautiful, and fluffy. They look just like they did when you first got them, and you're ready to show the world that you're no 'Spider Eyes' but instead your glorious, glamorous self. Go show the world the real you.
